 | COMPORT 1.2 | | The program is intended for transmitting of bytes to serial ports, manipulating by their baud rate and controlling of their LCR and MCR registers according to arbitrary timetable defined in user-written script file. The user can observe on the screen all actions performed by the program, as well as all information received by the program from serial ports.
This program can be useful to people that develop devices connecting to computer by serial ports. Also this program can be useful to people that want to feed somewhere a complex sequence of square pulse, but do not want develop special hardware for this purpose.
The program is designed for execution under DOS, however works correctly also under Windows 95/98/ME and, restrictedly, under Windows NT/2000/XP.
Features:
- Working with COM1 and COM2 simultaneously.
- Values of the LCR and MCR registers can be expressed both as hexadecimal number or as list of field values.
- Timetable is fulfilled with precision to one millisecond.
- The user can "freeze" and "defreeze" the picture.
- Timekeeping with precision to one millisecond. The user can enable and disable timekeeping at run time.
- Calculating of statistics about basic events (a byte is transmitted, a byte is received etc).
- Generating of sounds in synchronization with controlling of serial ports or independently of it.
- The program can automatically terminates when it completes execution of the script file.
- Versions of the program with Russian-language and English-language interface. Documentation on Russian and on (rough?) English.
- Timetable is defined before starting of the program. Feedback is not provided. User cannot interfere in execution of the timetable (except for terminate it).
- Information, obtained by the program, can be viewed only. The program is unable to write anything to a file. |

  | LPT IO 1.6 | | Capture (record) digital data via LPT port. View/edit data in binary format (two modes), save it to a file as reference or for "playback" via LPT port to simulate data source. Also, the editor allows you to create your own digital data for "playback". Other features includes an adjustable frequency square wave generator, an LPT port tester, an activity (LPT port pin) counter, etc. |

  | rs232107.zip 1.07 | | RS232 v1.07 is an RS-232 bus analyzer program. Use it to capture RS-232
communications between 2 devices so you can analyze and debug protocol
problems. The program will use all existing conventional RAM for the
read buffer, up to 500,000+ bytes. The RS232 program has been highly
optimized in assembly language for the best possible performance. The
RS232 program has the ability to search for specific ASCII or Hex data
and can also write the read buffer to disk for viewing at a later date.
The program monitors and displays both ASCII and hex simultaneously as
the data comes across the line, in both directions, all in real time.
The program also displays whether any parity or framing errors have
occurred and monitors the status of all hardware handshaking lines if so
desired.
Special requirements: An RS-232 break-out box or cable.
Changes: Added more features.

   | ports20.zip - | | console mode program CONSOLE, and documenation for their use. The
PORTS program reports all serial port UART addresses and UART types
for the 8250, 16450, 16550, 16650, and 16750. The TEST and CONSOLE
programs are used to test the functionality of a specfic RS232/422/485
port.

  | seril200.zip - | | screen all the time. It shows the real-time bit rate, data/parity/stop
bit information, and status of the control leads (DTR, DSR, RTS, CTS, RI,
and CD). It can show any of the standard COM ports (COM1 - COM4) or a
special serial port of your choosing.
It can be controlled either with command line options or with a
configurable Hot-Key. Hot-Key controls include moving around on the
screen, hiding/showing itself, and changing the COM port, among others.
Special requirements: None.
