This is a College-grad Music-Major's dream come true. But for people like me who are only passingly conversant with music notation, this is an overwhelming nightmare. And sorry, if you can't input the music as notes, (is that a quarternote? or a sixteenth note? single dot? double dot? half rest? full rest? coda?) then you're screwed.
It will import a midi and convert it to sheet music, but the playback is inferior to the original because this program is geared for GUITAR. (e.g. question asked when importing, convert the original 'church organ' track to guitar, or bass?), and the output is a .ptb file, so it is useless except in this program.

It will only import ASCII tabs made by this program and one other common program, so not to my surprise, it refused to load any tabs which I had already collected from the internet. The author has clearly put a lot of work into this program. But, all of the old tabs from the internet followed the same basic layout scheme. That this program does not look for the 'pattern' that it would find at the start of the actual tab is a serious deficiency. This program should be able to load all but the most seriously flawed tabs from the old days but it won't, so it is worthless to me.

Add to that, this program is strictly for the outdated MIDI

I went to the website bulletin board, and there seems to be a small clique of insiders who run the show there, bandying-about their power to control all that anyone might want to say. It was so autocratic and dictatorial that one of their major contributors packed up all his songs and left. The biggest concern there seems to not be getting the tabs out to the public, but rather who has the 'better' tabbed version, coupled with many complaints that "...so-and-so stole my tab..." and submitted it on MIKE'S GUITAR SITE bulletin board ( http://www.mikesguitarsite.co.uk/ )
